A BIT MORE ABOUT THE PTFA

Langton Boys’ PTFA is the Parents, Teachers & Friends Association of The Langton Grammar School for Boys.

We are a registered charity (No. 810298) run by parents, carers and staff to raise funds and support activities that enhance school life.

All parents and carers of pupils at the school are automatically members of the association.

What We Do

We raise funds for the “extras” that benefit our pupils: equipment, enrichment opportunities, events and experiences that add to their time at school.

We work in partnership with the school to ensure funds are used where they make the greatest impact.

How We Are Run

The PTFA is governed by a Committee and Trustees in line with our constitution (based on the Parentkind model for England & Wales).

Officer roles are elected annually at the AGM.

Committee Roles (roles can be shared)

  • Chair - Provides leadership, works closely with the school and supports volunteers.
  • Treasurer - Oversees finances and ensures good financial practice.
  • Secretary - Organises meetings, keeps minutes and supports communication.

Trustees

Trustees are legally responsible for ensuring the charity:

  • Operates in line with its constitution

  • Uses funds appropriately

  • Acts in the best interests of the school community

Trustees are encouraged to ask questions and help shape how we operate.

No specialist experience is required, support and handover are provided.
